Halifax explosion (1917)

The Halifax explosion, a disaster that killed 2,000 people and left many more injured, happened on 6 Dec. 1917 when the French munitions ship Mont Blanc collided with the Norwegian ship Imo in the narrows of the Halifax harbour.
